It didn't fit into my s-video port since the port was a little bit deep, so I peeled it with a knife to make it fit in.
This item was in great shape when I received it and it's a super useful little peice of equipment.
This one did not work for my situation. I am pretty handy and other S Video devices worked well.
Watch your device before buying it. It did not fit the Gateway laptop's jack at all, so didn't get an opportunity to talk about its quality. After a careful observation of the product I noticed that it doesn't have a round collar (before the square shaped wedge starts)to reach the jacks those placed little deep (about 2 to 3mm) into the laptop.

The picture quality is perfect when I connect my laptop to my old rca tv. The build is solid and durable, and no worries of breaking cables. 1.
